Hillcrest HS Concert Choir Performs at Veteran's Day Program

In recognition of those who sacrificed to serve our country, the Hillcrest Concert Choir, directed by Ms. Valeaka Freeman, performed in the annual Country Club Hills Veteran’s Day program. Taken from a poem of the same name by Langston Hughes, the choir sang I Dream a World. It is a song written after the attacks on 9/11 and dedicated to those who were willing to sacrifice their lives for peace in our nation. The program was attended by numerous veterans, family and friends of those who’ve lost loved ones in war, and community members. The program opened with the national anthem, sang by Hillcrest junior Shelby Jones.
