Hillcrest High School’s yearbook staff hosted a blood drive to show support for our community and help patients in our state who need blood. The event was a great way for the staff and students to boost donation participation and awareness of the constant need for blood. Many life-saving medical treatments and procedures involve blood transfusion and would not be possible without a safe and reliable blood supply. “Every student who donated can potentially save three lives,” stated Mrs. Tracy Safarik, Hillcrest yearbook sponsor. Hillcrest was able to collect almost 40 pints of blood. This participation can help provide tremendous benefit to people in need of blood. Thank you to Mrs. Ellen Nielsen, Mrs. Tracy Safarik, and Mrs. Courtney Stansberry and all the volunteer donors who made this drive such a success.
