Hillcrest HS Hosts Family Reading Night

Elementary school children were invited to 'Read with the Hillcrest Sports Stars'

On Wednesday, April 29, Hillcrest High School hosted their spring “Read with the Hillcrest Sports Stars” Family Reading Night. Elementary school children in the area and Hillcrest staff children were invited to attend this free reading event. The high school library was abuzz with activity. The Hillcrest Student Athlete Leadership Team (S.A.L.T.) and National Honor Society (NHS) members read and provided activities for children pre-school through 5th grade. Nine different reading stations were available along with a cookie decorating station. Over a dozen children and their parents joined the interactive reading fun!

During the evening the Hillcrest Culinary Club members provided light refreshments and the Hillcrest National Honor Society students assisted with the activities. “It was an evening of reading fun for everyone!” says Media Specialist Lisa Walsh.
