Hillcrest High School recently hosted a fall Thanksgiving themed Family Reading Night. Elementary school children in the area and Hillcrest’s staff children were invited to attend this exciting reading event. The high school library was abuzz with activity. The Hillcrest Student Athlete Leadership Team (S.A.L.T.) read and provided activities for children pre-school through 5th grade. The Hillcrest Culinary Club members provided light refreshments, and the Hillcrest National Honor Society students assisted with the activities. “It was an evening of reading fun for everyone!” said Media Specialist Kara Williams. Nine different reading stations were available for the enjoyment of the children. The Grande Prairie Public Library representative was on hand for library card registration and outreach services. Numerous children and their parents joined the interactive reading fun! For more information on the Hillcrest activities visit the school calendar at http://bhsd228.schoolwires.net/Page/2627.
