Hillcrest HS Kicks Off College Application Month
Counselors assisted students with college and financial aid applications
Hillcrest High School recently had its College Application Month kick-off in the College and Career Center. The Guidance Counselors and the College and Career Counselor Ms. Robin Vela worked with over 80 seniors on college applications and financial aid applications. Assisting the Hillcrest team were representatives from South Suburban College and from the Illinois College Assistance Center. Additionally, representatives from UIC and Western Illinois University came in to talk to the seniors about their institutions.
The students that have been accepted and the colleges that accepted them are: Bessie Barlow - Central College and Eastern Illinois University, Nailah Brown - Bradley University and University of Iowa, Kaylah Coulter - Texas Southern, Ceyanne Dickerson - Eastern Illinois University, Florrie Gittens - Northern Arizona University, Delois Ivery - Eastern Illinois University, Jazmine Jean-Simon - Eastern Illinois University, Andres Lira - Florida Atlantic University and Illinois State, Donovann Lyons - Tennessee State and Central State, Christina Moore - Lewis University, Tia Pollard - Alabama State, Tamryn Rockett - Iowa State, Mekhi Stanford - Eastern Illinois University, Tierra Weathersby - Northern Illinois University, Kayla Weddington - Central College, and Amaya White - Bluefield College and Roosevelt.
