Hillcrest HS Mathletes Compete at State
The Mathletes have been practicing for hours each week to perfect their mathematical skills

The Hillcrest Hawks Mathletes competed at the State competition on May 7 at the University of Illinois, Urbana. Azena Cmadu and Jayel Taylor represented our school. The Hawks finished 17th out of 24 team at the elite competition.
The Mathletes have been practicing for hours each week to perfect their mathematical skills. “They compute, evaluate, and analyze well beyond the mathematics curriculum to get ready to compete. These students have proven they have the aptitude to compete against the best mathematical minds in the State. “I enjoyed coaching the team every day and I’m excited to see how far they progressed with their season,” stated Coach Bob Valiska, Hillcrest Mathematics Teacher. The team is coached by Mr. Fantozzi, Mr. Peccia, and Mr. Valiska.
Great Job Mathletes, Hillcrest students and staff are proud of you!
