Hillcrest HS Mathletes Have Good Showing at Conference Tournament

Over 300 students from seven schools participated in the tournament

Recently, the Hillcrest Hawk Mathletes finished in 4th Place out of seven teams at the Conference Tournament. Just over 300 students from the seven schools participated in the meet. The Hawks finished in 3rd Place in Junior Functions and Graphs, Freshmen Equations and Inequalities, and Freshmen Groups. Second Place ribbons went to the Sophomores in Exponents and in Radical Equations. Finishing with 1st Place medals was the Sophomore Groups competition. The five medalists were Alonzo Arostegui, Jovencio Daguio, Melodie Slaughter, Tayla Jones, Sydney Varnado. A Perfect 10 paper was turned in by Timeon Oyeyemi in Functions & Graphs.
