Hillcrest HS Parenting Classes Learn Conflict Resolution
Students studied the processes that can effectively resolve conflicts
Students in Ms. Rebecca Haustein’s parenting classes learned that conflicts are a normal part of human interaction. Whenever two people come into contact, the potential for conflict arises. The students researched ways to identify and deal with conflicts. They have been learning about different family structures and how to properly resolve conflicts within their family. They studied the processes that can effectively resolve conflicts with others. “Recognizing differences in values can bring about an understanding of why certain areas or issues create conflict,” stated Ms. Haustein. The final project was student skits to act out the conflict and demonstrate how to properly resolve the situation. “The students delighted in the collaboration and even had some real conflicts to settle,” said Ms. Haustein.
