Hillcrest HS Physics Class Explores Air Pressure

Students measure and record data of varying air pressure of water rockets

Hillcrest High School’s Advanced Placement Physics class is taking advantage of mild temperatures as they start off the school year strong. The class, taught by Mr. Mirko Polyak, was reviewing the concepts of dependent and independent variables and students are designing their own experiments. In this exercise, students are exploring the results of varying air pressure on altitude of water rockets. Entirely pupil directed, the students have had to determine their own processes for measuring and recording data. Some of the students discovered that sometimes they might get a little wet! lol
