Hillcrest HS Students Assess Stress Factors

Students used their iPads to create their own rubric

Students in Mrs. Carissa Fetig’s and Mrs. Ellen Neilsen’s Freshman Health class used their iPads to create their own rubric according to their personal strengths and preferences for a project on stress. Each group brainstormed and researched stress factors in their lives and how to manage that stress. Their task was to create a personal grading rubric and complete a visual display of their findings. “The student’s involvement with the assessment enables them to ensure ownership in their work; they were more engaged in the lesson,” stated Mrs. Fetig. District 228 freshman are participating in the 1 to 1 Learning Program by using iPad minis. To find out more about the District program visit www.bhsd228.com.
