Hillcrest HS Students Create 3-D Projects
After reading 'To Kill A Mockingbird' students created visual displays
In honor of Women’s History Month, students at Hillcrest High School recently finished the classic novel, To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee. As a culminating performance assessment, students created three dimensional visual displays that analyzed key components of the novel, such as its strengths and weaknesses, biographical information about Harper Lee, the setting and time period, memorable quotes from the novel, and possible themes. Students also took on the role of casting director, placing current actors and actresses in the roles of four of their favorite characters. Freshman Darlene Moore-Jones said, “It was an interesting project in terms of coming up with a 3D design. I wanted to make my project look powerful and bold. For me, I wanted to go big or go home, so I put a lot of effort into my design. I was proud when it was chosen to be displayed in the IMC.” The projects will be on display until Friday, April 17th in the Hillcrest IMC. Mrs. Walsh, IMC Media Specialist, said, “We love showcasing our students’ projects. These students did a lot of work on this assignment and the finished artwork. The gallery of projects speak for themselves, they are amazing and well executed!”
