Hillcrest HS Students Make College Connections at Navy Pier

Students interviewed with highly selective colleges from around the country

Seven outstanding students from Hillcrest High School’s 2017 graduating class participated in the Chicago Scholars Onsite Admissions Forum at Navy Pier.

According to chicagoscholars.org, they “uniquely select, train, & mentor academically ambitious students from under-resourced communities to complete college and become the next generation of leaders who will transform their neighborhoods and our city.”

At this event, students attended a scholarship luncheon and interviewed with highly selective colleges from around the country. Several students were not only admitted to various colleges but also received merit scholarships at the event. Mrs. Kimiko Broome, an English teacher at Hillcrest High School, coordinated and accompanied the students to this event.
