Hillcrest HS Students Place at Financial Literacy Bowl

Six seniors took 2nd Place at the 4th Annual Financial Literacy Bowl

Hillcrest High School is proud to announce that six seniors took 2nd Place at the 4th Annual Financial Literacy Bowl, hosted by the Illinois College Advising Corps (ICAC) at U of I. Robynn Alsup, Kim Chi Dang, Kendria Jenkins, Constance McCullah, Symone Varnado, and Kendra Warfield each received a $750 college scholarship! In addition to their scholarship money, Kendria Jenkins won a Samsung Galaxy Tablet 4, and Symone Varnado won a Kindle as raffle prizes. The Financial Literacy Bowl brings together over 100 students from ICAC’s partner high schools to test their knowledge of personal finance and compete for scholarship prizes. Hillcrest students prepared for the event throughout the fall and winter by participating in financial awareness training workshops facilitated by their ICAC advisor Ms. Jessica Schraft.
