Hillcrest HS Students to Serve as Election Judges

Students will serve as election judges at the April 7 election

Approximately 63 Hillcrest High School students will participate as election judges for the Cook County Board of Elections April 7 local election. They are participating in the First Judge program, set up by Cook County for high school juniors and seniors to participate as student election judges during the various elections the county conducts. Over 93 students served as judges in the Gubernatorial Election in November and all were asked to return for the April 7 local general election. The student judges will serve polling places in the communities of Country Club Hills, Hazel Crest and Markham. Many Hillcrest students have continued to serve as judges after graduation. “Our goal is to promote lifelong voters,” said Ms. Caroline Snyder, faculty recruiter for the school. Students have been assigned as judges and equipment managers for the various precincts.
