Eriana James has been number one in her class throughout her four years at Hillcrest HS

Hillcrest High School is proud to announce the 2016 Valedictorian, Eriana James is heading to the Nation’s capital, Washington D.C. to Georgetown University on a full scholarship! According to Eriana’s guidance counselor, Mrs. Lindsay Lopez, she has been number one in her class throughout her four years at Hillcrest. “She is unlike any student I have ever met; freshmen year she was in my office wanting to discuss colleges. She is one of the most mature, intelligent, motivated, selfless and genuine people I have ever met. I have no doubt that Eriana will do amazing things with her life.” said Lopez. Eriana is a strong leader and had been well involved during her tenure at Hillcrest. Eriana is the flag team captain, HOPE leader, vice president of Student Council, peer tutor and President of Interact club. Eriana was able to choose between 11 colleges and universities. The final factors that helped Eriana choose Georgetown were location, academics, demographics of the school, and the overall college experience. “I am undecided as far as my major at this point. However, I know that I want to tie business with African-American Studies” Eriana goes on to say “I have a continuous interest in learning how I can help African-American woman by giving back to the community.” The Hillcrest community is extremely proud of Eriana on her accomplishments and looks forward to her success in the future.
