Hillcrest HS Wrestlers Headed to State
Richard Smith and Paul Sewell to compete at the State Wrestling Tournament in Champaign
Hillcrest High School is proud to announce that two wrestlers qualified for the IHSA State Wrestling Tournament. At the De La Salle Institute Sectional meet, Richard Smith (195) placed second and Paul Sewell (152) placed fourth to qualify for this prestigious event. “These athletes have trained hard, battled take downs and pins, and grappled with the toughest opponents to reach this level,” stated Mr. Jacob Mooney, Hillcrest High School Wrestling Coach. The State Tournament will be held February 19-21 at the State Farm Center in Champaign.
