Hillcrest HS's Armani White Has Her Future Up and Running

Armani has added college courses to her vigorous high school schedule

While most high school seniors are wondering and worrying about what they will do after graduation, Hillcrest senior Armani White has her plan implemented and running. She is currently attending Chamberlain College of Nursing, pursuing her Bachelor of Science degree while she is still managing a vigorous high school schedule. Armani knew early on that she wanted to become a nurse. Her grandfather works in the medical field at Lurie Children’s Hospital and has encouraged her to pursue the medical field as a career. “I attended college fairs and researched nursing programs to get ideas on a school that would be right for me,” said Armani. She applied for Navigate 2 Nursing program and was accepted based on her academic resume and involvement in Hillcrest High School. She just finished her first college class. “I was so excited that my first college score was an “A.” I worked so hard to prove to myself that I was worthy of this academic level,” said Armani. At Hillcrest Armani has earned a plethora of achievements and been involved in many clubs: NHS, Varsity Letters - track and cheerleading, Most Spirited Cheerleader Award, All Conference, Student Council – 4 years, Executive Board Jr. Sr., Freshman and Sophomore Class Rep, Junior Class Executive Board Vice President, Senior Class President, World Language Club, DECA, HOPE Leadership, and Diversity Club. “Armani is a very talented young lady. Always looking ahead and trying something new to improve the Hillcrest High School student community. She has served as Class officer for four years and as Vice-President of Student Council Executive Board for two years. Her organization and leadership skills are above par,” said Mrs. Molek, Hillcrest teacher.
