Hillcrest HS's Health Career Day

Partnership with University of St. Francis is bringing added awareness to careers in healthcare

Hillcrest High School science teacher Brenetta Allison and School Counselor Takeesha Dade recently collaborated to host a Health Career Day for students interested in pursuing careers in Health Science. Hillcrest has developed a partnership with the University of St. Francis to bring added awareness and prepare students for Health Science Careers. Dr. Bertha Paul-Assistant Professor of Nursing, Leia Levy-Program Director, Dr. White-Internal Medicine, and Donetta Lanier-Assistant Director of Nursing were the presenters. “The students were really intrigued by the Radiation Therapy presentation. Many of our students were not familiar with this career. As a result of the seminar, the request for students to enroll in Human Anatomy and Physiology next year has increased. This opportunity really left a positive impression on the students,” said Mrs. Allison.
