Hillcrest HS's James to Attend Princeton University's LEDA Program
Leadership Enterprise for a Diverse America Scholars Program will be held this summer

Hillcrest High School junior Eriana James has been accepted into the LEDA (Leadership Enterprise for a Diverse America) Scholars Program at the prestigious Princeton University for the summer! “I saw this program and immediately thought Eriana would be perfect for it. She often came into the College and Career Center to discuss college,” stated Hillcrest College Advisor Jessica Schraft. This is a free, competitive program that only accepts 100 students nationwide each year. The seven-week program includes leadership training, writing instruction, standardized test preparation, and college guidance. Eriana will also have the opportunity to visit several local schools through the program. The program will provide Eriana with support through her senior year and beyond. “I was honored to write Eriana a letter of recommendation for this program and I am so proud of her for being chosen from thousands of applicants,” said Hillcrest Counselor Lindsay Lopez. One hundred percent of last year’s LEDA Scholars were accepted to either Ivy League schools or a Most Competitive school. Eriana is currently the number one student in the Class of 2016 and plans on pursuing a career in the business field. “I am excited, nervous, anxious, and ready to leave for seven weeks! Woooohooooo! This is an amazing opportunity I never thought I would get. This proves to me that I can do anything that I put my mind to,” stated Eriana.
