Homewood Cops Go Bearded, Raise $1,000 For Domestic Violence Shelter

Homewood police went all-in for No-Shave November, raising more than $1,000 for local domestic violence shelter Anew.

HOMEWOOD, IL — The Village of Homewood Police Department has fundraised and donated $1,330 to Anew: Building Beyond Violence and Abuse. The fundraiser was in conjunction with No-Shave November, where 27 Homewood police officers grew a beard and didn’t shave for one month. They started their fundraiser in October and concluded on Nov. 14, with a giant check written to Anew’s leadership team.

“I really enjoy doing this because it really does help out local charities in town," said officer Ephraim Dorsey. "When I found Anew I talked to their director and their mission really lines up with what we are trying to do out there as police officers."

The Homewood Police Department has been participating in No-Shave November since 2018 and enjoy giving back to the community.
