Scorching temperatures can't wilt the excitement for proud Homewood-Flossmoor parents and graduates.
High temperatures didn’t stop the excitement of the 2011 class of seniors.
In commencement speeches, Senior Class President Olivia Fox and fellow graduate Anuoluwapo Osideko brought back memories of the past four years to their classmates and families.
President of the District Board of Education Richard T. Lites spoke of the unique members of the Homewood-Flossmoor class of 2011. Lites said there are 159 advanced placement scholars graduating in the class of 2011. H-F broadcast and journalism students were chosen No. 1 in the state of Illinois, and Homewood-Flossmoor High was recently ranked one of the nation's top schools by Newsweek magazine.

Some of the H-F graduates received scholarships to Notre Dame, Stanford, University of Illinois and other top colleges.
“You will always be welcomed to this campus and these halls," said Lites. "We are H-F!”
