Homewood And Flossmoor July 4th Parades March First Time In 2 Years
Homewood and Flossmoor celebrate Independence Day with parades, games, bikes and firefighter demonstrations Monday, July 4.
HOMEWOOD-FLOSSMOOR, IL — The Homewood and Flossmoor Independence Day parades make their triumphant return on Monday for the first time in two years.
Homewood’s Independence Day parade returns Monday, July 4. The clowns, bands, floats and stilt walkers step off at 10 a.m. The route starts at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 17951 Dixie Hwy. and travels east along Ridge Road, finishing at the Izaak Walton Preserve, 11100 Ridge Road. League volunteers will host games, entertainment and delicious summer fare.
A Flossmoor tradition since 1931, kids are invited to decorate their bikes and wagons in red, white and blue for the Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department’s Fourth of July parade. Participants will start lining up at 9:30 a.m. in the Parker Junior High School parking lot, 2810 School St., before stepping off at 10 a.m.

Marchers will be joined by the Flossmoor Fire Department, police and village representatives for the parade down Flossmoor Road and end in downtown Flossmoor. There will be a demonstration of operations immediately following the parade.
For the safety of participants and spectators, motorized vehicles are not allowed to participate in the parade.
