Homewood-Flossmoor Receives $3 Million In State Funds

The state has allocated more than $3.3 million in funds for projects and improvements around Homewood and Flossmoor.

HOMEWOOD, IL – The state has allocated more than $3.3 million in funds for projects and improvements around Homewood and Flossmoor.

Homewood

The largest project received $1 million from the Build Illinois Bond Fund to the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity for a grant to the Village for costs associated with capital improvements.

In addition, a grant of $250,000 was awarded to the Homewood-Flossmoor Park District for capital improvement projects.

As much as $100,000 was allocated to the Village of Homewood for costs associated with the purchase of a fire engine.

In order to purchase park equipment, the Village was allocated $50,000.

Flossmoor

In Flossmoor, $500,000 was appropriated from the Build Illinois Bond Fund to the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity for a grant to the Village for costs associated with Flossmoor Road viaduct improvements.

Additionally, $112,000 was allocated to the Village for costs associated with roadway improvements.

As much as $50,000 was appropriated from the Build Illinois bond Fund to the Village for costs associated with infrastructure improvements.

Just over $37,000 was granted to the Village for costs associated with engineering and reconstruction of the Brookwood Bridge Deck.
