Homewood Man Charged in Lake View Robbery

A 19-year-old Homewood man was charged in connection with a robbery that took place Sept. 5 in Chicago’s Lake View neighborhood.

Amari R. Jones, of the 18300 block of Carpenter Street, approached a 22-year-old man in the 400 block of West Melrose Street shortly before 2 a.m. and demanded he hand over his property, Chicago police said.

The victim gave Jones what he had, and was then struck in the face, police said.

Jones was scheduled to appear in bond court Thursday.
