Homewood Police Hiring Full-Time Officers
Applications are now open. All must be turned in by mail or in person by August 22.
HOMEWOOD, IL — The Homewood Police Department is currently seeking applicants for the position of full-time police officer.
Applications and requirements can be found online. Completed applications must be mailed or submitted in person 24 hours at the Homewood Police Department. Applications must be received by August 22 at 7 a.m.

Testing dates are set for:
- Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at 6:30 p.m. (doors open at 6 p.m.)
- Saturday, August 27, at 9 a.m. (doors open at 8:30 a.m.)
Testing takes place at James Hart Junior High School, 18220 Morgan St. Applicants who successfully complete the written examination will be scheduled for an oral interview.

"The Homewood Police Department is looking for good police officers," wrote Homewood Police Chief Denise McGrath in the application materials. "Now more than ever, we need people who care about the job and who will build a rapport with the public. We want to find candidates with good communication skills, compassion, empathy, integrity and an eagerness to learn."
