Infant Jesus of Prague School is proud to announce the winners of the 41st Annual Illinois Statewide Young Authors’ Competition. The competition is open to students in Kindergarten through 8th grade, and gives students an excellent opportunity to use their creativity to write and illustrate an original story. The stories, which do not include the students’ names, are evaluated by a panel of judges, and the winning authors are selected to represent Infant Jesus of Prague School at the Young Authors’ Conference.

These students, along with Mrs. Claudia Hawrlewicz, IJP Language Arts Teacher and Moderator of the Young Authors’ Competition, will attend the 41st Annual Statewide Young Authors’ Conference, held on May 16, 2015 at Illinois State University. The Conference is co-sponsored by the Illinois Language and Literacy Council and the Illinois Reading Council. Its purpose is to celebrate the written work of children; to support teachers in their efforts to encourage and improve students’ abilities in writing, reading, listening, and sharing; and to recognize the accomplishments of young authors. At the conference, the young authors’ books are read, discussed, and affixed with the official seal of the Young Authors’ Conference.
Congratulations to David, Maya, and Duffy, as well as all the students who participated in the competition.
