Illegal Possession of Ammunition, Retail Theft, Damage to Property: Blotter

SATURDAY, APRIL 25

Illegal Possession of Ammunition

Terry Dingle 25, of the 18100 block of Kedzie Avenue, Hazel Crest, was arrested and charged with illegal possession of ammunition and resisting a peace officer after an April 25 incident, according to Homewood police reports.

Police responded to a call at around 6:10 p.m. concerning a suspicious person who was looking into cars parked at McDonald’s, 3132 W. 183rd St., the report stated. Police found Dingle in the lot when they arrived, and he was identified as the suspicious person, the report added.

A search of Dingle revealed a magazine with 29 rounds of 9mm ammunition for a Luger pistol tucked in his waistband, the report stated. Police also found a 12-gauge shotgun shell in Dingle’s right pants pocket, the report added.

FRIDAY, APRIL 24

DUI

Jermaine Rogers, 25, of Hammond, Ind., was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, driving without insurance and leaving the scene of an accident after he was accused of hitting a parked car and then fleeing on foot, according to Homewood police reports.

The crash happened at about 12:45 a.m. April 24, in the 1700 block of Pine Road, the report stated. A witness told police he saw someone matching Rogers’s description leaving the scene on foot and heading eastbound, the report added.

Police caught up with Rogers a short time later near the intersection of Cedar Road and Ashland Avenue and brought him back to the crash scene, the report stated. At the scene, the witness identified Rogers as the driver of the car that hit the parked vehicle, the report added.

MONDAY, APRIL 20

Retail Theft, Criminal Damage to Property

Andre Nolan, 20, of the 15600 block of Ashland Avenue, Harvey, was arrested and charged with retail theft, criminal damage to property and possession of a theft detection removal device after being accused of trying to shoplift clothes April 20 from Kohl’s, 17620 Halsted St., according to Homewood police reports.

The store’s loss prevention agent watched Nolan via closed circuit TV take two pairs of sport pants and two T-shirts into a store fitting room, the report stated. When he exited, Nolan was wearing one of the store shirts he had walked in with, the report added. The fitting room was then checked for the other merchandise before Nolan was stopped as he was leaving the store, according to the report.

The total amount of the clothing Nolan is accused of trying to steal is estimated at $70, the report stated.
