Ingalls Introduces Diabetes Support Group

Diabetes affects more than 29 million Americans. That’s nearly 10 percent of the population. More concerning, nearly eight million don’t even know they have it.

To address this growing health threat, Ingalls Health System now offers a Diabetes Support Group for individuals with diabetics and their families.

Led by Kim Kramer, R.D., the group meets the last Monday of the month from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Ingalls Diabetes Management Center in Flossmoor. Featuring guest speakers each month, the group focuses on topics like basic glucose monitoring, insulin and oral medications, physical activity and how to avoid complications.

The first meeting is Monday, Sept. 28.
