Izaak Walton Calendar Photo Contest Back On

Enter your photos of the Izaak Walton preserve to see if you can win a spot in the 2023 calendar.

HOMEWOOD, IL — Homewood Izaak Walton Preserve staff on Wednesday announced the launch of its fourth annual calendar photo competition, “Seasons of Izaak Walton/2023.”

Last year, approximately 200 photos were entered into the competition for a spot on the calendar, “Seasons of Izaak Walton/2022,” showing the preserve in different months of the year.

The new 12-month calendar will start with Jan. 1, 2023.

Entrants can submit a maximum of five entries each. It can be a photo of weather, landscape, birds, dogs, other animals, and unidentifiable people. All photographs must be shot within Homewood Izaak Walton Preserve. Entrants should include the month the photo was taken.
All photos must be watermark free and in landscape format (wide not tall), ideally, 8.5 x 11.

Beginning August 15, 2022, you may submit your high-resolution images via email, with your name, address, and phone number plus a title for the photo to: hiwpcalendarcontest@gmail.com

An independent panel of photographers will choose their favorites. Visitors to the Homewood Izaak Walton Preserve Facebook page will be able to "Like" up to 12 photos to vote for their favorites. These votes will be used to break ties.

The contest will close at midnight September 6, 2022.
