Juvenile Charged After Bringing Gun To Homewood-Flossmoor High School: Police
Officials said the gun was found Friday, Jan. 16, and prompted a hard lockdown at the school.
HOMEWOOD-FLOSSMOOR, IL — A juvenile has been charged after bringing a gun to Homewood-Flossmoor High School last month, police said.
Homewood-Flossmoor High School was placed on a hard lockdown Jan. 16, after a report of a gun on campus.
Flossmoor police said that day that a firearm and ammunition were found on the floor inside the school's South Building. Officers secured the scene and recovered the firearm, along with the ammunition. Video footage was reviewed, and several students were interviewed as part of the investigation, police said. A suspect was taken into custody.

A juvenile has since been charged with possession of a stolen firearm, unlawful use of a weapon at school, and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, according to Flossmoor Police Chief Carl Estelle.
