Lane Closures along Route 83 Expected Week of April 13

Road work is expected to begin Monday on Route 83, with lane closures planned both eastbound and westbound.

Resurfacing will take place on seven miles of the road between Torrence Avenue and Dixie Highway. The location of closed lanes will change daily on this 7 mile long project.

The project, which includes work in Harvey, Dixmoor, South Holland, Dolton and Calumet City, will be completed by the end of August.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attentionto flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
