Local Restoration Company Wins Award From the Better Business Bureau - Rainbow International

Rainbow International of South & West Suburbs is one of the 6 winners from this years Torch Award hosted by the Better Business Bureau.

Hickory Hills, IL - Many people cringe at the word “contractor” and associate the restoration industry as being an unethical group. Sound familiar? Whether someone is a plumber, electrician, carpenter or restoration contractor, this stigma follows us all. Rainbow International of South & West Suburbs breaks through and eliminates this negative view by adhering to their Code of Values. “We conduct business above the line and it’s as simple as that,” states Rainbow International’s President, John Gurtler.

Performing day-to-day operations with a high level of ethical standards is what earned Rainbow International the 2016 Better Business Bureau Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics for the category of 10-99 employees. The Torch Award was presented to Rainbow International at the Better Business Bureau’s luncheon which was held on November 19th at Lowe’s Chicago O’Hare Hotel.

This award is presented annually to outstanding businesses in recognition of their commitment to high standards in relationships with their customers, employees, suppliers, competitors, and the surrounding communities. Like the BBB Torch logo, the Torch Awards honor and help to illuminate the importance of a corporate conscience and the responsibility for creating a fair and honest marketplace.

“Companies receiving the Torch Award have distinguished themselves as businesses that operate in an ethical manner,” said Steve J. Bernas, President & CEO of the Better Business Bureau serving Chicago and Northern Illinois. “They know the importance of their customers, employees, community members and other stakeholders to their business’ success. This is at the heart of why the BBB conducts the Torch Award program. We want to encourage businesses to do their best because it benefits everyone.”

“This year has brought many great things for us and it’s exciting that our company has stood out amongst other reputable companies in Chicagoland. Who wouldn’t want to work with a restoration contractor that the Better Business Bureau deems ethical?” states Rainbow International’s Business Development Manager, Niki Ramirez.

There are two types of restoration contractors in the restoration industry: some of them operate through ethical standards and work alongside the insurance company and the insured. The others favor unscrupulous acts that extort money from the insurance company and their insured. Because Rainbow International believes in developing long-term relationships with their business partners, insureds and customers, they have worked hard to differentiate themselves from those around them. Operating as a transparent company is something they aim to perfect in all aspects of their daily operations.

“Homeowners who have suffered a tragedy are in a vulnerable state of mind. Our company must prove ourselves through our actions in order to gain their trust during one of the most difficult times in their lives. People turn to Rainbow for their property damage needs because they know we care,” states Niki Ramirez.

Rainbow International is a full service restoration company that offers emergency service and assists people with insurance claims as a result of fire & smoke, water and mold damage. Their staff with over 100 years of industry experience is involved in all aspects of restoring residential and commercial properties: performing mitigation, maintaining thorough documentation, packing/cleaning/storing contents, working with the insurance adjuster and performing reconstruction. “Our company is committed to restoring homes to their pre-loss condition while making the process as seamless as possible. Respect, integrity and customer focus is our focus so this is always top mind awareness for all of our employees. Building a reputable brand doesn’t happen overnight. It takes years of dedication to show the community you are serving that you are committed to them and you are always going to do right by them. It is a rewarding feeling when homeowners do put their faith in you and entrust that you will get them back into their homes or get their business back up and running,” states John Gurtler.
