Man Caught Stealing At Homewood Jewel Threatened To Shoot Workers: PD
A 65-year-old Chicago man threw a garbage can at employees who tried to stop him from leaving the store, according to police reports.
HOMEWOOD, IL — A man who police said was caught stealing at a grocery store was arrested on several charges Dec. 10, after he was seen stealing more than $130 in goods.
Homewood police were called to Jewel, 17705 S. Halsted, at 11:58 p.m. for a report of retail theft. Mark Letts, 65, of Chicago, threw a garbage can at employees who tried to stop him, police said. He also knocked down a floral arrangement during the tussle.
During a struggle with police, Letts reportedly said he had a gun, and threatened to shoot employees, according to reports.

Letts was charged with retail theft, criminal damage to property, obstructing identification and assault.
