Michael Camp Completes Run On Jeopardy!
The Homewood-Flossmoor High School Spanish teacher finished third in Wednesday's semifinal round of the Teachers Tournament.

HOMEWOOD, IL -- Michael Camp, a Spanish teacher at Homewood-Flossmoor High School, finished his run on the Jeopardy! Teachers Tournament this week with a third place finish in a semifinal match-up on Wednesday.
Camp was incorrect on his Final Jeopardy clue, providing the response "Unification" when it should have been "Reconstruction" in the category titles "Eras in U.S. History." The missed response brought him down to a $2,000 total and down from second to third place in the show.
Only the winner, Holly Cannon, advanced to the Teachers Tournament finals that will be held Thursday and Friday. Mary Parker finished in second on Wednesday's show.

"The quality of play has been exceptional," iconic show host Alex Trebek said just before Wednesday's episode aired. It's "better" than any other Teachers Tournament in recent memory, he added.
Camp advanced to the semifinals with a second place finish during an opening round show last week.

On Wednesday, Camp was tied for second at $3,000 after Single Jeopardy and took a brief lead in the Double Jeopardy round after sweeping the category of "Women in Music."
His momentum gradually went away during the latter half of that round, however. He remained quite for several of the final clues and entered the final round with $6,600 and a long shot to win and advance.
During Trebek's Single Jeopardy conversation with the contestants, Camp shared the pride he has for H-F, although the school was not mentioned by name during the episode. He touted the school's three-time achievement as a Blue Ribbon school.
"We are pretty proud of that," he said. "The schools in the south suburbs are often overlooked."
