New H-F Board in Place

Three newcomers have been sworn in on the Homewood-Flossmoor Community High School District 233 board of education.

HOMEWOOD, IL - The new Homewood-Flossmoor Community High School District 233 board of education is now in place after three new members elected last month were sworn in during a meeting this week. Newly elected board member Steven Anderson was chosen by a 4-3 vote at his first meeting to be the board’s new president, according to a report from the Homewood-Flossmoor Chronicle. New members Annette Bannon and Beth Larocca were also sworn in.

In the April 4 election, Anderson received the most votes of the seven candidates seeking the three open seats with 3,311. Larocca was second with 3,016 while Bannon was third with 2,835.

The three unseated a trio of incumbents: Gerald L. Pauling, II (2,743 votes), P. Andrew Lindstrom (2,694) and Richard T. Lites (2,072).

Eric D. Grant also sought a spot on the board in the nonpartisan election and finished with 1,826 votes.
Anderson, Bannon and Larocca join Tim Wenckus, Debbie Berman, John Farrell and Jody Scariano on the board.

Wenckus was selected as vice president/secretary of the board in a vote that had him aligned with the three newcomers.
