Nicor Gas Hosts Community Resource Fair in Lansing, Serving More Than 200 Neighbors
Nicor Gas and community partners distributed 5,600+ pounds of groceries and connected families with vital resources.

At Nicor Gas, supporting the safety, stability and well-being of the communities we serve is at the center of everything we do. That commitment was on full display last week as more than 200 Lansing-area residents gathered at Calvin Coolidge Elementary School for the Nicor Gas Community Connection Resource Fair.
The event provided critical support to local families, including the distribution of more than 5,600 pounds of free groceries. In addition to fresh food and pantry staples, attendees had access to a wide range of valuable resources designed to address immediate needs and promote long-term stability.
The Community Connection Resource Fair was held in collaboration with Illinois State Senator Elgie R. Sims, Illinois State Representative Marcus C. Evans, Jr. and Lansing Mayor Brian Hardy. Their support, along with the participation of numerous community-based organizations, helped ensure residents could connect directly with programs and services available throughout the region.
The community resource collective included The Salvation Army, the Community and Economic Development Association of Cook County (CEDA), South Suburban Housing Center, Illinois Tollway I-Pass Assist, the American Red Cross, the Illinois Department of Treasury (ICash), the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs, the Illinois Department of Human Services – Division of Rehabilitation Services and Cook County Health.
