Open House at CN Training Center in Homewood
The doors will be open to visitors this Saturday, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
CN will be opening the doors to their new employee training center for an open house on Saturday, May 9. Take a tour, meet the staff and learn more about CN from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at 17650 South Ashland Avenue. Parking is available.
The 55-000-square-foot facility is said to be the first of its kind in the United States. It’s expected that up to 250 CN new employees per week visit the facility.
New CN hires and current employees are sent to the Homewood location for training to become locomotive mechanics, track supervisors, signal maintainers, car mechanics, electricians, heavy duty mechanics, rail traffic controllers, locomotive engineers and conductors. The facility also offers outdoor labs with dedicated rolling stock and other equipment for field training.
