Pamela Easter Receives District 228's October Board Award

Mrs. Easter enjoys being a positive influence and role model for our youth

At its meeting on Tuesday, October 17 the District 228 Board of Education presented its Board Award of the Month to Mrs. Pamela Easter. Mrs. Easter is the mother of three daughters including Jasmine (Class of 2012), Teri (Class of 2016), and Alicia (Class of 2018) all who have been students at Hillcrest. Her youngest, Alicia, is in her senior year and is an active captain of the majorette team. Her middle daughter Terri, who graduated in 2016, was a flag team captain. All of her students have been on the honor roll or high honor roll throughout their tenure at Hillcrest.

Mrs. Easter is currently serving her second year as Band Parent President at Hillcrest High School. Even though her daughter is only a member during the marching band season, Mrs. Easter continues to volunteer her time for concerts, performances, fundraisers and other band events throughout the year. She helps coordinate the homecoming dinner that is served to the band before the game every year. She has also helped organize and participated in our Movies on the Hill fundraisers, Krispy Kreme fundraisers and Taffy Apple fundraisers. And, she supports the band by walking and carrying water in the Hazel Crest and Country Club Hills back to school parades.

Mrs. Easter has always been committed to service. In addition to being an active band parent, she is on the committee to start Corliss High School's first Hall of Fame; Corliss is her high school alma mater. She has also helped coordinate their 501c3 status and because of the work she's done with that committee, she has been nominated for a community service award by Corliss High School.
