Parker Junior High Cross Country Tackles Tough Weather for Strong Showing

Parker’s cross-country team completed their second meet of the season Sept. 2, despite challenging weather at Apollo Park in Homewood vs. James Hart and New Lenox Liberty.
In the 7th grade girls race Eleanor Sloan finished the 2-mile race 5th in a time of 16:47, Anna Wootton finished 6th in 17:01, and Kamya Brown finished 7th in 17:10 to lead the girls. In the 7th grade boys race Charlie Faoro finished 2nd in 14:43 for 2 miles, Justus Zillman placed 3rd in14:47, and Finn Ryan placed 6th in 15:14.

In the 8th grade girls race Jasmyn Hunter finished 2nd in 14:53, Jane Bachus finished 3rd 15:03, and Karen Opara finished 4th in 15:15. In the 8th grade boys race Xavier Frazier finished 1st overall in12:25, Jeron Burns finished 3rd in 12:26, and Jacob Goldberg finished 5th in 12:43.
