Parker Junior High Cross Country Off to Strong Start

Team broke a number of school records in first match of season against Martino Junior High.

Parker Junior High kicked off their 2015 cross-country season August 25 against one of the top teams in the state at New Lenox Martino and ran exceptionally well, breaking a number of school records on their course. In the 6th grade boys race Will Goldberg finished the 1.15 mile race in 1st overall in 6:54, Charlie Faoro finished 5th in 7:08, Justus Zillman finished 7th in 7:32, Trip Shonkwiler finished 8th in 7:33, Eric Steiner finished 11th in 7:47, Arman Karchavos finished 14th in 8:06 and Fernando Garcia finished 15th in 8:08. In the 6th grade girls race Ella Michel finished 5th in the 1.15 mile race in 8:38, Kamya Brown finished 6th in 8:51, Ryan Saunders finished 9th in 9:28, Abigail Rucker finished 13th in 10:02, Ella Mathys finished 14th in10:37, Merrit Slaughter finished 15th in 10:46 and Lauren Stubblefield finished 16th in 10:46.

In the 7th/8th grade 2 mile race Xavier Frazier led the Parker boys finishing 4th place in 12:27 for 2 miles, just 3 seconds off the Parker record, Jacob Goldberg finished 5th in 12:29, Eric Gerecke finished 7th in 12:32, Jeron Burns finished 8th in12:34, Joe Sullivan finished 9th in 12:35, Devin Gorton finished 11th in 12:42 and Ian Barrow finished 12th in 13:05. For the girls, Allison Faoro set a Parker course record of 14:14 for 4th place, Jasmyn Hunter was 5th, Jane Bachus was 6th in 14:34, Karen Opara was 11th in 15:18, Elizabeth Lipscomb was 12th in 15:22, Jackie Klupchak was 13th in 15:32 and Alexia Pugh was 14th in 15:35.
