Ravisloe Country Club Voted 20th Best Course by Golf Advisor For 2015
Homewood golf course voted as one of best in the nation
FORE… Make that 20, actually! The Ravisloe Country Club in Homewood , Illinois, was voted the “20th Best Golf Course” in America by Golf Advisor for the months of April, May and June 2015.
Golf Advisor, a website dedicated to allowing golfers to share their experience after a round of golf, tallied independent evaluations for this prestigious honor. The courses are ranked on 7 different categories: Overall Condition of the Facility, Course Difficulty, Staff Friendliness, Pace of Play, Value for the Money, Course Conditions and Quality of Food and Beverage.

This recent accolade is added to the growing list that makes Ravisloe Country Club so popular among golfers. Ravisloe was also recently ranked “Sixth Best Public Access Golf Course in 2014” by Golfweek Magazine.
Ravisloe Country Club was established in 1901 in south suburban Homewood by an ambitious and visionary group comprised largely of members of Chicago’s Standard Club. Ravisloe’s founders selected the 120-acre Briggs farm in Homewood, Illinois as the site for their new venture. The 107 year-old golf course was initially established as a private club, until current owner Dr. Gendreau, took over ownership of the club in 2009 and opened it to public to offer golfers of all levels a private club experience at a public golf course. Dr. Gendreau is also an ardent advocate for eco-responsibility and sustainable living. Viewing Ravisloe as a special urban open space that should be preserved and enjoyed by everyone, Dr. Gendreau purchased Ravisloe in February 2009 and opened the course to the public.

Dr. Gendreau’s vision features beautiful, lush green grounds and a challenging 18-hole golf course. Guests can dine on the outdoor terrace to enjoy the outdoor scenery at the popular Bunker Bar and Grill. The Ravisloe Country Club also hosts major events throughout the year from weddings to corporate functions.
