Recent H-F Alum to Appear in Premiere Episode of Lifetime's 'Live Life Forward'
Jade Greear's story of activism and giving back to the community will be shared on national television Tuesday morning.

HOMEWOOD, IL - A young activist, blogger and volunteer from Homewood will be featured on the premier episode of “Live Life Forward,” a Lifetime television program set to air Tuesday morning.
Jade Greear is a 2016 alum of Homewood-Flossmoor High School and is currently a freshman at Michigan State University. She became active at a young age and has been well known in her community in recent years for giving back to her community and touching on various social issues important to her and others.
She will be one of three people profiled on the first episode of “Live Life Forward,” a show that will feature those who do good in their community and in the world. The premier episode will focus on Allstate’s #THEYSAY Project associated with the WE organization which focuses on youth empowerment.

“I’m really excited about it,” said Greear. “I’ve known about it for about a year and I’ve been looking forward to seeing the stories of the other people highlighted.”
Among Greear’s activism is her part of a peer-leader run H-F program called TATU.

“We went around to the local junior high schools, Parker and James Hart and educated them on the dangers of tobacco use,” said Greear, who was also a frequent volunteer at the South Suburban Humane Society while in high school.
Greear said she was first approached by show producers at a WE Day event in Illinois last year. They sent her a GoPro so she could film her segments on her own.
“I was filming from my community, from the dorms, everywhere,” she said.
Greear’s activism is multifaceted.
“I write about various social justice issues,” she said. “Whenever I see something that is prevalent and I see an opportunity to create a discussion about. The goal is to start a conversation so we can learn better through dialogue.”
Greear says she has always had a passion for “giving back to others.”
“My mom… she’s my rock. She has always taught me that it is not the beauty on the outside that matters it is about what is inside and that we need to find a way to give back to others,” she said.
Greear is only 18 years old, but it is obvious she has a bright future ahead of her. She is studying interdisciplinary studies and social sciences with a concentration in health and society at Michigan State.
Upon graduation from college, she hopes to enroll in grad school in the public health field.
“I’ve always had an interest in public health,” she said.
She’ll get plenty of real world experience in the field long before she even finished her undergrad degree. She is going to Kenya this summer to shadow health professionals in a village there.
“I’m really excited for that,” she said.
Live Life Forward will air the episode featuring Greear at 6:30 a.m. central time on Tuesday. It will re-air on Tuesday, March 28.
