
The H-F Racquet & Fitness Club (the Club), located at 2920 W. 183rd St., Homewood IL has opened registration for the third race of the 2014 H-F Summer 5K Circuit, the Flossmoor 5K. A traditional start to the annual Flossmoor Fest, the 5K takes off from Leavitt Park in Flossmoor, IL. This flat and fast course winds through the quaint historic section of this Chicago Southland community.
The race takes off promptly at 8 a.m. with check-in and race-day registration starting at 7 a.m. Pre-registration for the Flossmoor 5K closes Thursday, September 4 at noon. Pre-registration fees are $22 for Homewood-Flossmoor residents and $25 for non-residents. The race day fee is $30 and only cash or checks will be accepted on race day. Race registrations will also be accepted via phone (708-799-1323) with a credit card and the signing of the waiver on race day.
As do all the Circuit races, the Flossmoor 5K will have its unique Tech T-shirt for all pre-registered participants and calculates running times for this race as well as the overall positioning for the Circuit awards. At the conclusion of the race, awards will be presented for overall male and female winners as well as awards in each age group. The highlight of the event is the presentation of the Overall Circuit Awards to both the top three male and female finishers.

With several close running times, several participants will aspire to close the gap with the current top Circuit runners David Cooke (Markham), Chris Laflin (Homewood), Les Hockenberry (Homewood), Darla Erman (Chicago Heights), Priscilla Cordero (Homewood) and Margaret Hockenberry (Homewood).
