Chicago Heights Cops Growing Beards For Kids In Need

Police officers are asking for donations of unwrapped gifts and financial contributions to help Comer Children's Hospital.

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL - This will be the third fall/winter in a row where Chicago Heights police officers will grow beards for a good cause. The effort, which began Oct. 1, is held in connection with the Chicago Heights Police Department collecting gifts for children in need and raising funds for the University of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital in Chicago.

"Your charitable contribution at any level will support a great institution that is always researching for cures to save our children and get them healthy," the department wrote in a news release.

Officers are asking Chicago Heights residents for donations of unwrapped Christmas presents to deliver to children in need over the holiday season. Drop them off at the Chicago Heights Police Department from October through December.
