Latest Charge Of Filming Sexual Encounters Dismissed

A third woman has accused the Chicago Heights Park District police chief of sharing images of her, but that case has been dismissed.

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL - A third woman has accused the Chicago Heights Park District police chief of filming sexual encounters without her consent, but prosecutors shortly after dropped the charge in court on Wednesday after arresting the man just days prior. Christian Daigre, who last month was charged on accusations he secretly filmed encounters with two women and shared intimate images online at his Chicago apartment, still faces the original charges but the new charge of felony non-consensual dissemination of sexual images filed last week is now gone, the Daily Southtown and others have reported.

"After a review of the evidence related to this case, we concluded that we are unable to meet our burden of proof to sustain the criminal charge and today the case was dropped,” Cook County State’s Attorney spokeswoman Tandra Simonton said.

The latest charge that has been dropped stemmed from an alleged encounter from 2016, according to the Southtown. Daigre posted a $25,000 bail after he was arrested on the third accusation on Nov. 20.

In the two cases still pending against Daigre, Chicago police have said that on multiple occasions he "disseminated recordings of private encounters with women to social media without their knowledge or consent."

He was charged in October with two felony counts of non-consensual dissemination of private sexual image, two felony counts of intimidation and one felony count of possession of a controlled substance.

Daigre was placed on administrative leave with the Chicago Heights Park District Police Department pending the outcome of the cases. But some in Chicago Heights and surrounding towns have objected to him not being fired immediately.

Several people were outside Chicago Heights City Hall on Nov. 21 protesting during the City of Chicago Heights Board Meeting. Another protest is planned for Dec. 10 at 7 p.m. at the Chicago Heights Park District Board Meeting. This board meets at 1400 Chicago Road in Chicago Heights.

The group organizing the protests, "FURIE - Feminist Uprising to Resist Inequality and Exploitation," had three demands published in a Facebook event listing.

"Daigre resign as Police Chief of the Chicago Heights Park District with no paid leave," "for the FBI to investigate local suburban police departments that refuse to investigate these crimes" and "compensation for his women victims."
