Teen Fatally Shot Behind Apartment Building In Dolton

A 16-year-old boy died Wednesday after a shooting at an apartment complex.

DOLTON, IL - A 16-year-old boy was shot and killed in Dolton Wednesday afternoon. Police have said the boy was found on the property of an apartment complex near 144th Street and Indiana Avenue around 2:30 p.m., according to a report from ABC-7-Chicago.

Dolton Police Chief Robert Collins, Jr. told the television station that the boy was shot behind an apartment and ran around the building to the front and collapsed there. He was pronounced dead later at a nearby hospital. The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office did not immediately have the boy's identity.
