Deer Rescued From Ice At 178th And Central
Forest Preserve police officers helped guide the deer off the ice at Tryner's Pond.

COUNTRY CLUB HILLS, IL — A deer was able to make it off the ice at Tryner's Pond at 178th and Central in unincorporated Cook County near Country Club Hills Friday morning. A number of first responder agencies showed up to help, with the Cook County Forest Preserve's police officers leading the effort in guiding the deer to safety.
Oak Forest police, the Cook County Sheriff's Office, Oak Forest public works and the Oak Forest Fire Department also came out to help. It's not known how the deer got stuck on the ice.
Oak Forest Fire Chief Patrick Duffy said Cook County Forest Preserve police had a few people out there and saw that the deer was able to make it to dry land on its own. He did not know if the deer was injured.
