2 Shot, 1 Seriously Wounded, Before Noon In Park Forest

A daytime shooting on Mantua Street left a 21-year-old Park Forest man seriously wounded, police said.

PARK FOREST, IL — Two people were injured in a shooting reported before noon on Monday in Park Forest. Police in the suburb said a 20-year-old Park Forest man suffered serious injuries and a 21-year-old Steger woman a non-life-threatening injury to "an extremity." The shooting happened around 11:45 a.m. Feb. 24 in the 200 block of Mantua Street. Both the man and woman were hospitalized, police said.

Police said the shooting is "not believed to be a random incident," and that an investigation continues.
