Sharon Otten inducted into the National Association of Professional Women's VIP Woman of the Year Circle

Sharon Otten, Vice President at Advocate South Suburban Hospital, was recently inducted into the National Association of Processional Women

Sharon Otten, Vice President of Patient Care Services at Advocate South Suburban Hospital, was recently inducted into the National Association of Professional Women (NAPW)’s VIP Woman of the Year Circle.

Otten was recognized for her leadership in health care. Through her pursuit of continued professional development, Otten’s expert knowledge and skills have kept pace to meet the ever-evolving compliance demands, scientific progress and regulatory issues of the medical profession.

“We are grateful to have Sharon serve as part of the hospital’s senior leadership team,” said Richard Heim, President of Advocate South Suburban Hospital. “She’s dedicated to her work as a nurse and a leader, and many of our successes are thanks to her hard work and commitment to continuous improvement.”

As Vice President, some of Otten’s responsibilities include health care management, patient relationship building, strategic planning, communications and teamwork building. She is committed to creating a workplace that is human to the core. Her skills and areas of expertise include physician care, critical care, patient safety, nursing, clinical research, EMR, health care consulting and procedure implementation.

Otten is also an active advisor and mentor, making a positive and lasting impact on the lives of those who respect her as a nurse and Vice President.

With more than 700,000 members and over 200 operating Local Chapters, NAPW is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women.

Advocate South Suburban Hospital is a 289-bed, acute care facility. With almost 400 doctors on staff, community members can find the latest in heart care, emergency care, surgery and extensive rehabilitation services at the hospital. In addition, specialty clinics serve patients with diverse needs such as wound care, chronic pain treatment, sleep disorders and ophthalmology. Advocate South Suburban Hospital also welcome more than 1,000 babies each year in its Family Birthing Center, attending to women from prenatal through new baby care.
