'Shave Away Cancer' Event For St. Baldrick's Foundation At Parker
Volunteers will shave their heads for childhood cancer research at Parker Junior High on April 21.

FLOSSMOOR, IL - A "Shave Away Cancer" event for the St. Baldrick's Foundation will take place this month at Parker Junior High School, 2810 School Street in Flossmoor. The event, the first of its kind hosted by Parker, will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 21 in the school's North Gym and will raise money for childhood cancer research.
Cindy Hayes, an administrative assistant at the school, has shaved her head in the past at St. Baldrick's events at Homewood-Flossmoor High School and started thinking about hosting one at Parker once she found out one wasn't planned at H-F this year.
"And now it's happening," she said.
